Oral History Editing Part 2: Theory & Practice

Please join us for this online Groundswell: Oral History for Social Change class on Oral History Editing Theory & Practice with Helyx Chase Scearce Horwitz and Siyade Gemechisa.

Thursday, January 17th and Thursday, January 24th from 6 to 8 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Cost: $50 for Groundswell members, $75 non members

The two-session workshop is designed to help you tackle the editing component of your oral history project. The first session will focus on giving participants the tools to plan the editing portion of their oral history projects, including practical exercises, basic file management, and advice on structuring an editing project. The second class session will be a virtual demonstration of the free and open source audio editing software, Audacity.

Join Groundswell: Oral History for Social Change for a conversation with Abbie Arevalo-Herrera, a young mother who made the decision to move into the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond with two of her children to fight her order of deportation. She is now sharing her story and using her platform to lead a movement in Virginia and beyond!

All proceeds from this event will be provided to Abbie.
